Enable or disable Java and JavaScript

You can enable or disable Java or JavaScript support in your browser.

Yandex

  1. Click the button  → Settings.
  2. Click the Show advanced settings link at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click the Content settings button in the Privacy block.

  4. Set either the value Allow all sites to run JavaScript or Do not allow any site to run JavaScript in the JavaScript section.

  5. Click Done to save changes.

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the menu button  and choose the Internet Options item.
  2. Go to the Security tab and select the zone Internet. Then click Custom level.

  3. To disable JavaScript: select Disable in the section Scripting → Active scripting and Scripting of Java applets.

    To enable JavaScript: select Enable in the section Scripting → Active scripting and Scripting of Java applets.
  4. To save changes click OK in the Security Settings - Internet Zone window. Then click Apply in the Internet Properties window.

Google Chrome


  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click the Show advanced settings link at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click the Content settings button in the Privacy block.

  4. Set either the value Allow all sites to run JavaScript or Do not allow any sites to run JavaScript in the JavaScript section.

  5. Click Done to save changes.

Mozilla Firefox

With Mozilla Firefox versions 23 and later you don't need to manually enable JavaScript — this option is enabled by default.
Follow these instructions to disable JavaScript:
  1. Enter the command about:config in the browser's address bar.
  2. In the window that appears, click I'll be careful, I promise!.
  3. Enter javascript.enabled in the Search line.
  4. Highlight the line with the value “default” using your left mouse button and then click Toggle.
Note. To re-enable JavaScript, go through the steps listed above but at step №4 highlight the line with the value “user set” instead.

Opera

  1. Hold and click Alt + P.
  2. Under the Websites tab in the JavaScript block set either the value Allow all sites to run JavaScript or Do not allow any sites to run JavaScript.

Safari

To enable JavaScript:
  1. In the Safari menu click PreferencesSecurity.
  2. In the Web content section select the Enable JavaScript option.
To enable Java:
  1. In the Safari menu click PreferencesSecurity.
  2. Enable the Allow Plug-ins option and click Manage Website Settings.
  3. Click the Java element in the list of plugins.
  4. In the When visiting other websites list that appears, select the appropriate option (Allow or Allow Always).
  5. Click Done.
